NCR & CAPA
A controlled raise → investigate → close workflow, with electronic signature and root-cause discipline built in. This is what we intend to build. It is not something you can use today.
Where this actually stands
Specified, not started.
We build modules one at a time and ship them properly. Legal Register and Document Control are live; NCR & CAPA is next in the compliance sequence, alongside Risk & Opportunity Registers and Skill & Competence Matrices. No code has been written against it, and we're not going to pretend otherwise on a features grid.
There's a practical reason to say so here rather than stay quiet: the sequence isn't fixed, and what a real quality manager needs from a CAPA workflow is worth more to us than our own guess at it. If this is the module you'd buy, that's useful to know before we build it.
Nothing on this site is live until we can demonstrate it.
The problem it will solve
Closure that isn't just a status flipped to "done".
A Non-Conformance Report records something that went wrong. Corrective and Preventive Action is how you prove you actually fixed it — not just patched the symptom. In an email thread or a spreadsheet, "closed" often means someone stopped chasing it, not that the root cause was found and eliminated.
The intent is to make closure mean something, and to make it provable: defined stages with defined owners, investigation before action, a signature against a named individual at each decision, and evidence of effectiveness attached before anything can be closed. Mapped to ISO 9001 clauses 8.7 and 10.2.
In the meantime
The engine for this already exists.
Every Okuda module runs on a process engine with versioned templates, typed forms, role-owned steps, rejection back to any earlier step with a mandatory reason, electronic signature and a field-level audit trail. A nonconformity workflow built as a process on that engine is available today — what a dedicated module would add is the register, the reporting and the CAPA-specific structure around it, rather than the controls underneath.
If it isn't versioned, owned and traceable, it doesn't count.
